Don’t throw it, repair it! Repair Cafes are a global movement aimed at reducing waste, sharing skills and building community.

Proudly supported by Clarence City Council Community Grants Program and by Clarence Climate Action, this is the first repair cafe for Hobart’s eastern shore.

Bring your broken items along to the Eastside Repair Cafe and learn how to repair them with the skills of expert volunteers. (See below for information on skills available at the May event)

What to Bring

Our skilled repairers will be able to assess these broken items for repair:

clothing and fabric repairs and patches, loose or missing buttons, toys, small furniture items {chairs, indoor and outdoor}, crockery, kitchen utensils including pots and pans, bric a brac, replacing zip sliders on outdoor bag and camping equipment, musical boxes, garden tools, some jewellery items, shoe sole resurfacing.

Skill share demonstrations will include:
button repairs, hemming jeans, headphone plug replacement, origami seed packets
