Grey Power XR Tasmania is hosting an Open Day at Cleburne Historic Homestead on Sunday, April 11 from 11 am to 3 pm with the theme “Value the Past – Protect our Children’s Future”.

Cleburne Homestead is a jewel of historic architecture built in the 1830s and registered with the National Estate and the National Trust. It sits on four acres of grounds where peacocks stroll and alpacas graze among farm buildings and age-old trees. The home’s unique mixture of old and new has inspired its owners Penelope Ann and David to use this backdrop to share with the public their appreciation of the past and their deep concern for our children’s future.

They invite visitors to browse through the home’s beautiful gardens, old architecture, modern art and history, enjoy a free cuppa and meet the plethora of local climate and environmental protection groups working toward preserving our beautiful home – the earth – for generations to come. Children will have the chance to play some fun games, get a taste of the past and a glimpse of the legacy we wish to leave for them.

The event is free, Covid-safe and family-friendly. Visitors are asked to register via Eventbrite before Sunday, April 11 and leave their pets at home.
